Banana Republic's Mad Men Collection Is IN STORES (Almost!)
In THINGS THAT MAKE PERFECT AND OBVIOUS SENSE NEWS, Banana Republic's limited-edition Mad Men collection, created by Simon Kneen and "Mad Men" costume designer Janie Bryant, will hit stores Thursday, August 11. BUT, you can get exclusive access to the pre-sale TOMORROW, Wednesday August 10 at Facebook.com/BananaRepublic. What are you waiting for? THE NEW SEASON TO START OR SOMETHING (!?!?!?!?!??!!?) And don't worry. This isn't straight-up Mad Men cosplay or anything. The Banana Republic collection, which includes 65 pieces, including (obviously) menswear and accessories (and even a MONEY CLIP) is "Mad Men" inspired, hence the PERFECT grey cigarette pants, leopard-print cardi and Joan/Peggy-esque pussybow silk top.
Off to fluff my beehive, join the ladies in the Steno pool, and not have equal rights or respect in the workplace or at home!

Christina Hendricks Covers Lucky Magazine!
Christina Hendricks is on the cover of the July issue of Lucky Magazine (on stands July 5). Everyone wins! I'm not fully in L-O-V-E with the beige Donna Karan dress -- I would've loved to see her in green, but I guess it IS July, and green is SO fall/winter, and she does have gorgeous green accessories. 'Tevs though. What do I know?
Also, hopefully we can see this as a celebrate of a BEAUTIFUL woman and not just a BEAUTIFUL WOMAN WITH CURVES! Enough with the caveat. She's gorgeous. Period. Full stop. Deal with it.
If you needed two more reasons to love Christina Hendricks, here they are: Ebay and Etsy. She provided Lucky with her favorite Ebay and Etsy finds. I know!
And no, I'm not afraid to cop to being a total Christina Hendricks/ Joan Holloway Stan. I even dressed like Joan for a wedding. In the words of Fred Armisen as Joy Behar... "SO WHAT? WHO CARES?"

OR...
This outrageously paroxysmic photo of "Mad Men"'s Jon Hamm?
And you can only pick ONE! It's almost a trick question because NOTHING is hotter than Jon Hamm, but the heels are kinda also doing it for me.

Mad Men's Christina Hendricks Sexies Up London Fog
OHAI JOAN! Christina Hendricks, who is the actual person who plays Mad Men's Joan Holloway, who is NOT a real person, is the new face of London Fog's fall 2010 outerwear and accessories campaign. Because she can make even a suitcase look sexy. It's absurd, I know.

CATHERINE SEZ: Too bad they Photoshopped the sass out of her. Sad. She's not a skinny bitch! Why make her one?
Check out Christina Hendricks talking London Fog sexy times!

OMG! MAD MEN FURNITURE FOR SALE ON EBAY!

HOLY mid-century furniture! You can totally bid on the ACTUAL FACTUAL furniture from the set of "Mad Men" right now on Ebay!
You can totally buy Don Draper's credenza and store your booze on top of it so you can practice drinking 17 times a day and being a functional alcoholic, and lots more Mad Men office furniture, so you can put on a girdle and pretend to hire people, fire people, cheat on your spouse, have a Christmas party with conga line, get sad letters from your fucked-up daughter, or engage in pre-equal rights workplace sexism.
Sadly, as my friend pointed out, Jon Hamm is not for sale.
Proceeds benefit City Of Hope cancer care center.

I Bought It: Miu Miu-Alike French Connection Dandy Voile Dress
French ConnectionI've been in the market for some slightly more professional dresses -- I work in online content for MTV, so this is pretty professional in my realm. I don't exactly need a Chanel suit or whatever (though Chanel, if you're reading this and have some kind of blogger suit program, I'd be happy to wear one to work and watch people's WTH faces). Also, I've been scratching a LOT of impulse buy itches lately, and this French Connection dress was one them. I was at Bloomingdale's, and this pretty much leaped up into my arms like a lost puppy looking for a home. It practically licked my face. Annoyingly, I paid $148 for it (very unlike to me to whip out one and a half Benjamins, but again, this poor dress, it needed a home -- also, I don't carry "Benjamins." I don't think I've ever seen a real 100-dollar bill in my life except maybe in mafia movies... I really need richer friends) and then I saw it on French Connection online for half that, but it was sold out, so whatever. It fit perfectly, despite the fact that it was about 128 sizes larger than the three sizes I might normally wear. (Looks like I'm not the only one who finds that French Connection likes to size up.)
Anyway, as much as I love Mad Men-style everything (duh -- I'm in my '30s and live in Brooklyn. It's a given), there's a time and a place to dress like Joan Holloway, and a time and place to be not costumey. So while the pleated, nipped-waist style feels retro, the ruffled sleeves keep this from looking like you're swilling a Manhattan and vying for Don Draper's attention. It's like Mad Men meets Gaga.
Oh, and the print kinda references Miu Miu, no?

Agent Provocateur's New Bridal Collection Means You Gets To Be Christina Hendricks On The Cover Of 'New York' Mag

If you, like me, Stan for Christina Hendricks (Joan from "Mad Men") AND like olde-tymey-looking lingerie, then rejoice! Agent Provocateur's new bridal collection is a.) gorj, and AND b.) goes up to an E cup. Often, if you're a chesty lady and you walk into a nice lingerie place, they all but LOL in your FACE and basically suggest you sew two C cups together and pray. So an E cup is, if you'll pardon me here, a "big" deal for lingerie. Especially bridal. My favorite of Agent Provocateur's new bridal line is the super retro "Thelma" skirted sweetheart body suit below. It's $390. Oh yeah, and I SWEAR I'll soon stop being lazy and post some wedding pix already, speaking of bridal shiz.
